RSS Feeds

What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an Internet method used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts. An RSS document, which is called a "feed," contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text.

RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that's easier than checking them manually.

How do I get started?
  • Click on the RSS icon for the feed to which you want to subscribe.
  • In RSS-aware browsers, like recent versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox, the feed will display on a Web page and you'll be given options for ways to subscribe. These options will typically appear at the top of the Web page.
  • If your browser doesn't give you these options, copy the URL for the feed (an address typically ending in .xml) to a feed reader.
